Initiatives supported by LSAMP focus on preparing traditionally under-represented students and helping them advance from pre-college to graduate school. LSAMP will have a direct impact on student advancement in the form of research opportunities, academic preparation and graduate school support. Northeastern University LSAMP addresses matriculation and retention issues by enhancing existing programs through collaborations and developing additional opportunities for under-represented students. The purpose of the program is to create a pathway for under-represented students to help ensure success in STEM fields.
